DownHole SAT is an intuitive and powerful software tool designed for the prediction and treatment of scale and corrosion in oilfield wells and mixtures. Model scale tendencies, CO2-H2S corrosion and inhibitor dosages over your entire operating range; any range of pressure, pH temperature, mixture ratio up to 12,000 psi and 300°C.
Avoiding pesky polynomials, the DownHole series uses an ion association model to extend the applicable ionic strength for calculations, and to provide consistent, reproducible indices for common, and not so common, scale forming species.

Display numerous variables including: temperature, pressure, pH, percent injection, mixture ratio, saturation level (scale) and corrosion rates.

DownHole SAT also allows you to dive into the chemistry, to see where scaling species will begin to saturate in brines and mixtures. Zero in on a specific range and see exactly how far you can inject and mix your water before and after treatment.

In the early 1990’s, a group of water chemists working with major petroleum companies came to French Creek Software, Inc. (at the time already a leader in water chemistry modeling) in need of a better solution for brine modeling in their wells.
Frustrated, they had already adopted WaterCycle®, French Creek’s cooling water program. Though WaterCycle successfully modeled oilfield brines, they were hoping for a product more specifically tuned, quickly getting French Creek development staff involved.
Combining the 20 + years that went into developing WaterCycle's calculation engine, consultation and lab data from those PhD chemists - DownHole SAT™ was created - a simple to use, accurate tool to model scale, corrosion and treatments in oilfield.
